The main MSBI platform was getting outdated – running on SharePoint 2010 and on physical servers instead of virtual servers, which had become the standard approach to server operations at Maersk Line since the deployment. I upgraded the platform to SharePoint 2013 and at the same time rearchitected the system to a more modern standard. The existing BI solutions was migrated to the new platform and redesigned to a new end user experience. The platform was also redesigned to be more self maintained. Instead of having ongoing tasks on the platform everytime somebody changed the project, the platform discovered changes itself and adapted to them. This helps to keep platform maintenance at a minimum and at the same time ensures a consistent and user experience.
